This is exactly what I thought when I heard a commercial on TV. I didn’t know if I could trust the Ad but decided to give it a try. So, I went online to www.missingmoney.com and entered my name and State of Residency. Low and behold, it came back that I had several amounts that Arizona Unclaimed Property (http://www.azunclaimed.gov/) was holding for me. Again, feeling a bit leery, I completed the the online application and proceeded to downtown Phoenix to claim my property. It turns out that I DID have about $1,700.00 coming to me! I found out that after I sold my homes 8-10 years ago, the lenders that handled my impound accounts (monies help by my lender to pay my taxes and home owners insurance when they come due) mailed me my refund to the property that I sold. The money never made it to me and I totally forgot about it. See below for common types of unclaimed property that you might not know you have coming to you…
Common types of unclaimed property include:
Bank accounts and safe deposit box contents
Stocks, mutual funds, bonds, and dividends
Uncashed checks and wages
Insurance policies, CD’s, trust funds
Utility deposits, escrow accounts
It took me about 6-8 weeks to get my money but I can assure you that it did arrive. I am now telling everyone to go to www.missingmoney.com to see if they have anything coming to them. Give it a try and let me know if you made it rich! Good luck everyone!!

It is a know fact that the Real Estate profession can be a dangerous one. Luckily there are numerous safety and self defense courses around the valley to prepare people in the field, whether it’s open house situations or showings. The mere nature of this business puts professionals at risk. Real Estate agents are a prime target for criminals because even dressed modestly, successful agents are usually dressed well and drive newer model cars.
Realtor Safety Seminars are available at the Scottsdale Gun Club 05/18 and 10/05 from 3-4:30pm. Their class discusses personal safety, situational awareness, mental conditioning and cyber security. For more information visit their website: www.SGC-Scottsdale.com or call 480-348-1111
4 Years – 50 Cities – 20,000 Agents trained & over $600,000 raised!
I recently attended a training course which offers Real Estate Agents the opportunity to be equipped to handle the home purchase needs of active duty and former military clients. It was an eye opening experience to witness the struggles our Veterans endure.
The American Warrior Initiative has reached over 20,000 real estate agents around the country at the Certified Military Residential (CMRS) and American Warrior Real Estate Professional (AWREP) Boot Camps by bringing awareness of the challenges facing the men and women who have served in the military when returning from war. They also spearheaded over 50 give back initiatives for wounded heroes of America. These wounded heroes have been served through mortgage free housing, business grants, home upgrades, service dogs, and more.
Fairway Independent Mortgage company sponsors this event and their mission is to educate, encourage and inspire people to give back to our veterans! Speakers Louise Thaxton and former captain Sean Parnell were incredible, this is a must see event for anyone in the Real Estate business!
