3 Trends to be careful with for Home Renovations
Regardless of whether you’re thinking about your own home or a place that you’re wanting to flip – you want to make sure the house will gain value after investing both time and money into a renovation. Here are 3 points to avoid for successful renovations:
1. Extravagant Countertops
Granite countertops have been extremely popular for quite a long time, particularly among first-time home buyers. One issue with this trend: it’s not always working for everyone, because certain countertop pattern can be an individual choice. Rather, choose low-maintenance countertops that are still long-lasting and easy to clean and pick surfaces that are more neutral which will allow the buyer to redecorate to their own personal taste.
2. Kitchen Trends
We often hear ‘The kitchen sells the home’ and one of the key factor here is not only design, but also practicality. A microwave over the oven might be most common and saves space, however certain arrangements make it harder to access certain items needed. The layout of the kitchen has to be useful and convenient to each family member.
3. Room Modifications
You think you’d rather like to have a bigger living room, so you decide to remove one bedroom in order to create more space. Or you have a big garage that you don’t need and want to make it into fitness room with gym flooring and space for weights and machines. While those are great choices for your own personal needs, many families might prefer an extra bedroom or need a huge garage for their cars and storage. If you don’t plan to live in your home long-term, consider carefully before you convert rooms and additional spaces.
